Hunker down...there is a lot to talk about!

Ok, first and foremost, the Royal Wedding.

I have to admit, I could've cared less that this event was going  on...until it arrived.  I drank the koolaid and got excited.  I even planned on waking up at 4am to eat breakfast with the room mates and drink mimosa's.  (we are fancy).  I am NOT a 4am girl, so I set the DVR just in case.  Thank goodness!  I woke up @10.  I snuggled on the couch and watched this fairytale wedding unfold.  I was glued!

Ok, so lets discuss the Ladies & their hats.  Posh actually looked good...being 7 months pregnant she seems a little filled out & healthy. ahh...David Beckham is so pretty.

Some of them were ridiculous, but the award for the MOST ridiculous:
Because Princess Beatrice's hat deserves it's own post. : wedding 6a00d8341c630a53ef01538e3404bb970b 600wi
Princess Beatrice's filopian-esque hat.  What the hell is that?

My oh my...so hot.  Looking so dapper.

She looked stunning!

Favorite moments:
*The trees that lined Westminster Abbey.  Love Love Love.
*The hats. I did find them amusing.
*The breathtaking moment when Kate Middleton stepped out of the car.
*I loved that when she was walking down the aisle, William never looked at her.  Tradition states that the groom is the very last person to see the bride, and he stayed true to that!  I also love that Harry couldn't resist looking back at her, and nudging him like...just wait until you see her.
*I love that when William finally saw her you could read his lips...he said You look Beautiful. ahhh.
*I loved the snarky flower girl on the balcony that covered her ears because the crowd was too loud.  She did NOT look pleased

Saturday Jason, Tony, and I randomly road triped to Williamsburg, Va...on then onto VA beach.  What an adventure!  Here's a picture re-cap of the adventure.

There was this cool christmas village that had a starry ceiling.  It also "snowed" every 4 minutes!

It was such a fun trip!  I love these impromtu moments...I will always remember them.

Sunday, the day President Obama announced Osama Bin Laden has been killed.  2 great quotes that I read really is fittng here.

"I will mourn the loss of thousands of precious lives, but I will not rejoice in the death of one, not even an enemy" ~ Jessica Dovey..

"Returning hate for hate multiplies hate, adding deeper darkness to a night already devoid of stars. Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate, only love can do that." MLK Jr.

Some great pictures released from the White House:

What a day.  We were already in bed, and a text news alert came through.  We jumped out of bed & turned the TV on to hear the Presidents address.  A crowd had already gathered in front of the White House celebrating...and for a couple crazy moments, I contemplated going.  I didn't, the allure of being well rested for work was far more appealing than standing outside with a lot of people.

Monday.

Had an awful day!  Lost my car keys.  I've NEVER done that.  I took a bus to our storage unit.  I got myself all the way into the back of the unit, and the motion sensor lights went out.  I was stuck in complete darkness!  I through things out into the hall, but nothing worked.  Luckily I have  flashlight app on my phone.  I was there because I know I once had a spare.  No luck.

I called a local dealership that still servies the now defunked Saturn.  They said they'd be able to get a duplicate key made tomorrow, as long as I had my registraton & license.  From there I had to call AAA to come unlock my car so I could get those things.

Monday was not such a good day...until...

A blog I follow, Shutter sisters is...
Shutter Sisters is committed to honoring and celebrating the beauty that women behind cameras can capture. We embrace the belief that we are all creative equals, eager to share with one another our work; our art. It is in that sharing that we thrive and grow not only in our creativity but in all facets of our lives. As technology continues to vigilantly lay down new stepping stones in our exploration of the ever- changing landscape of photography, each day offers a chance to learn more. At Shutter Sisters, we encourage you to feel your way as you go. If the passion is there, the rest will follow. It’s not our photographic background, education, or expertise that is important; it’s our pictures. We don’t need to be paid professionals to be recognized as talented photographers. A great image is a great image whether it happened by beautiful mistake or meticulous calculation. Whether we are using an inexpensive point and shoot camera or a pricey SLR, one common thread remains; when we take a picture, we are telling a story. We are translating our life experience into significant visual images, each photo distilling the fleeting moments of our lives. As women who love to take pictures, we are all united by our cameras and by the desire to capture remarkable images. A sisterhood like that is dare we say it, worth a thousand words.

(I copied that from their main site)  Anyway, they have a project called One Word project.  They pick a word and then anyone can upload pictures that illustrate that word.  They choose one everyday and highlight it on their blog.  So, this month is mobile.  One of the founders has just released a book about mobile phone photography so this is all about camera phone pics!  Whoohoo!  Anyway, my photo was chosen for Monday.  I am totally honored to have this photo that I'm really proud of shown to many many people.
