No circle store for me!

I'm off this weekend! Yay. I live for these weekend off. I'm currently in the car, and heading out on the road on another journey. Destination: williamsburg, va. I'm sporting capris (finally!) And my hair is in messy pigtail-buns. The weather is spectacular, and I'm about to get some Starbucks. I.am.excited.

I'm sure pics will follow.

Ps. I want to talk about the royal wedding. I'll do that when I get home.

Easter :)

“those who dwell among the beauties and mysteries of the earth are never alone or weary of life.”
- rachel carson

Here are some pics from this week, including Easter.  Enjoy.

Table decorations for easter
You'd have to understand my room mates to understand this.  Regardless of what day it is, if they are having a gathering, it has to be fabulous.  So, beyond my wildest, craftiest dreams, enter a few simple colored eggs laying in some moss & raffia and boom...magic.

Egg tree!
Not so fond of Egg tree's (remember back in the day, that crazy neighbor always hung plastic eggs in the trees.  It did fit in with the mantle decorations though.

Jason's peep cupcakes
Peep cupcakes!  I despise Peeps, I think they are nasty.  I do love cupcakes, however, and these were tasty.  Once I ripped that pink bastard off, they were amazing.

Easter flowers
Pretty Easter Flowers.

Ahh...serenity
I think serenity when I see this.  This is actually in my Grandfather's backyard.  When I look at this picture, I envision a magical land where fairies would live.  Don't judge me ;)

Grandfathers yard
love love love.  The tree's go on forever!

Grandfathers yard
His yard is amazing.  I grew up playing in this yard, I rode my very first tractor with Paw Paw here...ahh, memories.

gorgeous cherry blossom!

Drive by cherry blossoms
This is in my neighborhood.  I cannot get enough of the trees this time of year.  The colors are magnificent.

Good morning starshine!
Drive to work this morning.  6am, and some beautiful skies.

Driving home
Driving home today.  Was preoccupied by the "whale cloud".  It looked more whale-ish at the time.

Jen & max
My friend Jen & her sweet cat, Max.

On a side note.  I read this quote today 3 times, from various places.  By the 3rd time, I was like...ok, something wanted me to really see this quote.  I'll share.

Spring...I've missed you.

In celebration of the amazing, beautiful days that we've been experiencing here in Maryland...along with Earth day tomorrow, here are pics to enjoy.

I am part of the sun as my eye is part of me.  That I am part of the earth my feet know perfectly, and my blood is part of the sea.  There is not any part of me that is alone and absolute expect my mind, and we shall find that the mind has no glitter of the sun on the surfaces of the water.
--D. H. Lawrence

**I did not take this. I found it at wathell.tumblr.com**

Before the grass was mowed...was crazy big, but lots of cool dandelions & colorful "weeds"

Sunset
Driving along 495 (I was a passenger!) and it was an amazing sunset.

Prettiest friend

This is the cutest little video! Lyrics. By Jason mraz. I love what the animator writes to the object of his affection. I can only hope that someone someday will feel this way about me...again. Enjoy :)

Spirit...where art thou?

unexplored spirit

I found this on a table at Caribou Coffee tonight. (seriously...who does the marketing for this company. They truly are genious. How many blog posts have been dedicated to a Caribou find..a lot)

I really hit me when I saw those words. They are really quite powerful to me. I've been thinking about lots of things lately, and I feel like I'm just slowly walking through life, like I'm looking at a movie and the lead character has no vision or drive. I certainly do, it's in there. It comes out in the oddest places & times. When I'm interested in something, I give it 1000% and I don't look back. I'm fearless, I am creative, and I love every minute. I love that feeling. I get all goose-bumpy when that happens, its like I woke up for a little bit. It's the times when I'm not goose-bumpy that I'm concerned about. I take many things for granted, and I ignore things that normal people would fret about every moment. Why? What's it all mean basil. (please...tell me you got the Austin Powers reference, otherwise I just sound ridiculous.)

I watched something on TV tonight that has really struck a cord deep inside. I'm not ready to discuss it, but I think I want to explore something I've never thought of. In my wildest thoughts, this won't work, but instead of sweeping it under a rug & shrugging my shoulders, I'm going to reach out and decide what to do. I apologize for the vaugness, but until I understand it all this is how is must be.

I'm kind of free association writing tonight. Oh well. Such is life.

Last week adventures

My mom was in town from Boston this weekend. At Christmas she was gifted with an awesome camera, for which I took over while she was here (hence the ridiculous photo at the top!) So Jealous! We found out that my grandfather's wife, Reba, had a small stroke last week, so I'm glad we were all together as a family. Reba is ok, although she was not herself. The weekend was quite rainy, but we were lucky to have Sunday, it was absolutely beautiful out so we ventured down to DC to see the Cherry Blossoms. Here are some pictures from the weekend.

This is from their backyard.

I have way too much time on my hands :)
I'm such a weirdo!

I love spring!

I think this tree looks like something straight out of a Tim Burton movie.

This was a really sweet moment between my grandfather & Reba. She enjoys doing crossword puzzles, and with all that was going on she couldn't figure them out...so he sat next to her and helped her. I captured it without them even knowing I was there.

My cousin Amber dressed up in our Grandmothers old coat & my Grandfather's cowboy hat. We were doing a mini-photo shoot.

So..this heart thing. Apparently I can't do it. My fingers just don't bend that way.

This is my attempt at the heart shout out. I thought I did just fine.

It was a nice weekend. I was glad to see everyone...but I was also glad to be home. My cats were very happy.
